Dual wideband lambda & 8-channel K-type thermocouple CAN module
LAM2 puts two wideband lambda channels, eight K-type thermocouple inputs, two analogue inputs and exhaust-pressure compensation in one sealed CAN module. It transmits in MoTeC LTC and E888 message formats, so a dash, logger or M1 ECU already configured for those devices reads it without reconfiguration, and it listens to the MoTeC M1 standard stream for exhaust pressure and heater control.
Every LAM2 ships with all functions enabled. It is configured, updated and reported on over CAN with CP Configurator, a free Windows application that works with PEAK and Kvaser CAN interfaces.
Key features:
- Two Bosch LSU 4.9 or LSU ADV wideband channels, reported as lambda
- Eight K-type thermocouple inputs with selectable cold-junction source
- Two protected 0–5 V analogue inputs and a 5 V sensor supply
- Exhaust-pressure compensation per lambda channel — from an analogue input or the M1 CAN stream
- MoTeC LTC and E888 compatible CAN output; M1 input; open LAM2 CAN stream with published DBC coming for other platforms
- One 34-way sealed connector, one CAN node, one fused feed for module and heaters
- Field firmware update, configuration export/import and device reports from CP Configurator
Specifications:
|
Lambda channels |
2 × wideband, Bosch LSU 4.9 or LSU ADV (selectable per channel), factory-calibrated sensors. Reported as lambda. Optional free-air check from CP Configurator. |
|
Thermocouple inputs |
8 × K-type, per-channel cold-junction source (internal, or an NTC on an analogue input) and per-channel offset. |
|
Analogue inputs |
2 × 0–5 V, high impedance, protected for automotive use. Roles: voltage to CAN, exhaust pressure (2-point linear), cold-junction NTC. |
|
Sensor supply |
Regulated 5 V / 0 V, 200 mA, for exhaust pressure sensors and cold-junction NTCs. |
|
Exhaust pressure compensation |
Per lambda channel, from an analogue input or from MoTeC M1 CAN exhaust pressure (bank 1 or bank 2). |
|
CAN bus |
1 Mbit/s, 500 kbit/s or 250 kbit/s. Output in MoTeC LTC and E888 message formats. Input: MoTeC M1 standard stream. |
|
Supply |
9–18 V DC, 70 mA typical for the module. Sensor heaters are fed directly from the vehicle’s fused battery supply in the harness and switched and regulated by LAM2 on the negative side. |
|
Connector |
34-way sealed automotive (TE AMP SUPERSEAL 1.0) |
|
Configuration |
CP Configurator (Windows) over CAN — configuration, live data, CSV recording, export/import, firmware update, device report |
|
Enclosure |
Machined aluminium, 75 × 66 × 39 mm, 154 g, 4 × M4 mounting holes in the base |
